Volkswagen is back to bring back the automotive icon in electric. VW ID. Buzz is now on a round-the-world mission to prove the capabilities of electric vehicles not only in cities, but also on long routes and diverse conditions.
This journey also confirms the brand's transformation towards full electrification, while reviving the legacy of the VW Kombi in a modern, more environmentally friendly form.
VW ID global Expedition. Buzz is not just a product showcase. Volkswagen wants to demonstrate the robustness of electric vehicles on transcontinental tracks, from paved roads to extreme routes.
Exterior Design
Visually, ID. Buzz brings the nostalgic feel of VW Kombi with modern design language. Clean body lines and aerodynamic surfaces combine with warm classic elements.
Some of the main features of the exterior include oval LED headlights that blend in with the VW logo on a closed grille, a two-tone color scheme, and a horizontal line pattern that supports aerodynamic efficiency.
Electric sliding doors on the sides facilitate passenger access, while large windows give the impression of a spacious cabin. Wheels measuring up to 21 inches reinforce the futuristic impression while maintaining stability when driving.
At the rear, full transverse LED lights combine with the VW logo in the Middle, following the design trends of modern electric vehicles. Overall exterior ID. Buzz emphasizes the balance between classical heritage and a sustainable future.
Interior Design
ID. Buzz offers a combination of European family comfort and modern technology. The Interior is designed airy with abundant natural lighting.
The compact dashboard features a 12-inch main touchscreen as the Control Center, as well as a 5.3-inch digital instrument panel in front of the driver.
The Interior uses recycled materials and is free of animal skins, in line with Volkswagen's commitment to sustainability.
Electrically adjustable ergonomic seats, ample legroom in the second row, and a trunk capacity of up to 1,121 liters make this car ideal for long trips as well as family activities.
30-color ambient lighting, a premium audio system and wireless connectivity support a modern and comfortable driving experience.
Performance, Battery And Drive Technology
Built on the same MEB platform as other Volkswagen electric models. The standard version uses a single 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor with a peak torque of 310 Nm, driving the rear wheels.
The battery with a capacity of 82 kWh offers a range of up to 420 km according to the WLTP cycle. The AWD variant with two motors is estimated at around 500 km per full charge.
In addition, this electric van is also equipped with supporting technology and safety features such as:
- 170 kW DC fast charging system: 5% -80% in about 30 minutes.
- IQ package: The Drive includes adaptive cruise control, lane assist, front assist, traffic jam assist, and automatic parking.
- Visual assistant: 360-degree camera and ultrasonic sensors throughout the body.
- The position of the battery on the floor results in a low center of gravity for driving stability.
Target Market
Volkswagen's Target market is consumers looking for a living and family—style electric van-those who need capacity for up to seven passengers, comfort, and an aesthetically valuable design.
ID. The Buzz is positioned not only as an electric vehicle, but also as a representation of modern mobility that combines functionality, style and sustainability.
